Iconic Aussie rocker Jimmy Barnes has made good on expectations of topping this week's ARIA Albums Chart with his latest LP Soul Searchin' and has scored his 11th solo album in the process.

The Cold Chisel frontman's latest achievement is also his fifteenth solo studio album to make it to the top three — only 1999's Love And Fear album missed out on that honour, peaking at #22. His run of solo #1 albums began with Bodyswerve in 1984 and continued with For The Working Class Man (1985), Freight Train Heart (1987), Two Fires (1990), Soul Deep (1991), Double Happiness (2005), The Rhythm And The Blues (2009) and 30:30 Hindsight (2014). Barnes also scored #1 with his 1988 live album Barnestorming and best-of Barnes Hits Anthology in 1996.

Barnes moved aside Flume, who this week dropped to #2 with his second Aus chart-topper Skin. While on the back of her recent Aussie visit, US pop star Meghan Trainor's Thank You has jumped up to #3 — its highest position to date. The top five is rounded out by Adele's 25 at #4 and Beyonce's Lemonade at #5.

Other debuts on the Albums Chart this week include The Wolfe BrothersThe Crazy Life (#10), Tegan & Sara's Love You To Death (#13), Beartooth's Aggressive (#18), Ladyhawke's Wild Things (#19), Hellyeah's Unden!able (#20), The KillsAsh & Ice (#21), Jai Waetford's Heart Miles (#24),  Roxette's Good Karma (#25), Paul Simon's Stranger To Stranger (#26), Above & Beyond's Acoustic II (#30) and Volbeat's Seal The Deal & Let's Boogie (#47).

A less frequent local chart visitor made their presence felt in the Singles Chart this week as 2016 Splendour act The Avalanches' first song in 16 years, Frankie Sinatra, landed at #34 (it had been expected to debut in the top 30). Back in 2000, the band's Frontier Psychiatrist single only managed to peak at #49.

At the top end of the Singles Chart is Calvin HarrisThis Is What You Came For, ft. Rihanna, enjoying a second week in the top spot — it's the Scottish producer's second #1 here (his How Deep Is Your Love collab with Disciples was #1 last year).
