Elsewhere in Vivid Ideas, Hoodoo Gurus' manager Michael McMartin and Icehouse's manager Keith Walsh team up with lawyer Adrian McGruther for a 90-minute seminar on conflict in the creative industries. Titled, F@#k You!!: Resolving Disputes in the Creative Industries, it will look at how to deal with disputes such as songwriters' song percentages, shares of merchandise income and unauthorised use of songs.
McMartin said today, “To say that it takes a huge amount of effort and time for an artist to establish their career or reputation is an understatement. To then see it all go to waste because of a dispute that hasn't been dealt with properly is a tragedy.”
It will take place 10am Saturday 25 May at the Sydney Museum Of Contemporary Art with tickets $15.
Another Vivid Ideas highlight is the MusicNSW/Indent conference Feedback, which is presented by theMusic.com.au. Speakers such as Urthboy, Dom Alssio, Stu Harvey, Emily York, Graham Nixon and Bec Reato will speak at the event taking place Monday 10 June at the Museum Of Contemporary Arts.
