ON THE ROAD
Melbourne's Kite Club and Sydney's High Tails are getting ready to bring down co-headline tour down the east coast of the country later this month, the two sweet pop bands having new material ready to show off to fans to end the year. See the dates.
Also taking to the east coast is Newcastle's The Owls, announcing a string of dates this month before they release a new single in early 2014. The band have also been added to the Newcastle leg of The Cribs anniversary tour, with acts The Guppies, Glass Towers, The Love Junkies and more playing their respective local shows. Read more.
Sydney boys Lime Cordiale will celebrate the release of their new EP Falling Up The Stairs with tour of the country next month, but before they do, they'll hit the road with Cosmo Jarvis for a bit of fun through October. All tour details here.
Before making the trip to Falls Festival, The Preatures will make their presence known at a free gig at The Newtown Hotel, along with Tokyo Denmark Sweden, to celebrate Halloween and the venues anniversary on Thursday 31 October. Not only that, but there'll be free grog. Check it out!

Melbourne indie rockers We The People have announced a 10-date tour to celebrate the release of their forthcoming EP The Truth About Fables, set for release on Friday 8 November. Their Sydney mates Bad Pony will join them along the way as well – venturing to Melbourne, Warrnabool, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Geelong, Hobart, Launceston and Adelaide.
EYE ON THE CHARTS
On the AIR singles/EP charts for independent labels through independent distribution, Sheppard's self-titled offering still sits at the top of the list in the number one spot this week, one ahead of The Kite String Tangle who remaining at number two for the second week in a row.
YesYou's So Much To Give (featuring Jordan Rakei) and The Good Life by Elizabeth Rose make their debut at 12 and 14 spot respectively, while Will Sparks' Chemical Energy and Bam Bam featuring Allday's Bags Packed make slight two spot jumps each, claiming number eight and nine respectively
As for Albums from independent labels through independent distribution, Eskimo Joe claims the AIR leader board once again with Wastelands which debuted last week, while Tumbleweed's Sounds From The Other Side making a debut at five, Lachlan Bryan And The Wildes debuts at number seven with Black Coffee and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's latest offering Float Along – Fill Your Lungs comes in at nine in their first week.
And a few acts have made a re-entry to the AIR Album charts this week, Mark Wilkinson's Let The River Run, Gurrumul's Rrakala, Kerser's The Nubulizer and the award-winning Hyperparadise by Hermitude peeking their head back after number 15.

Adelaide band Sincerely, Grizzly took the wrapping off their new single Us; Or Optimism yesterday, announcing a run of tour dates in its honour and hinting the release of their debut record penned for early 2014. More.
Punk-rockers In Hearts Wake released a new tune Skydancer with a bit of a twist, the Byron Bay band and their label UNFD revealing the The Skydancer Project, donating all of the single's income to charities focusing on Indigenous cultures. Read more.
Also with a full-length release penned for early next year, Sydney's Sister Jane dropped their new single, Whole Wide World, representing a coming-of-age direction shift for the five-piece who are always praised for their energetic live performances. Details.
Perth's The Siren Tower unveiled a new video clip for King River from their 2012 record A History of Houses which is a real Aussie music industry favourite. The band are also heading out on the road later this month – see the dates.
Formed in the Blue Mountains in 2001 and just back from a massive tour in the UK and Europe, The Spooky Man Chorale have returned to Australia to unleash their new album The Spooky Man In History, an eclectic journey of folk, love, comedy and bass.
Melbourne's prog-pop rockers Toehider have unleashed their new single Whatever Makes You Feel Superior on the world, and they are set to perform two shows in Sydney and Brisbane with progressive legend Devin Townsend this week.
