EYE ON THE INDIE CHARTS...
A couple of debuts in the top twenty of AIR's singles/EP charts for independent labels with independent distribution this week. Bombs Away scored the number two slot with Drunk Arcade (Central Station/Xelon), with Uberjak'd in at thirteen for GTFU (Central Station/Xelon). Ben Hazlewood entered in at eighteen with Parachute (Hazlewood/independent), rounding out the debuts.
Once again though, Flume literally held on to the top spot with Holdin' On (Future Classic/independent), no thanks to some impressive performances at Groovin' The Moo. Thanks should also go out to The Great Gatsby soundtrack, with Gotye's 2007 track Hearts A Mess (Samples'N'Seconds Records/independent), which features on the album, re-entering at eleven.
We've got a new number one in the top 20 albums released on independent labels through independent distribution this week. Chet Faker's Thinking In Textures (Opulent/independent) has knocked Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' Push The Sky Away (Kobalt/independent) down to three.
Debuts this week included Citipointe Live's Holy Ground (Citipointe Music/independent) and Underground Lovers' Weekend (Rubber Records)
