ON THE ROAD

The return of Perth's Eleventh He Reaches London continues to build with the band announcing a run of shows. The band will perform across the country this October. More.

Former vocalist for The Middle East, Jordan Ireland has launched his new solo project Stolen Violin and to celebrate, he'll be playing a few east coast dates this month. Details.

Melbourne trio Calling All Cars will hit the road for some headling shows to coincide with the release of their comeback single Werewolves. Read on.

Rock quartet Vida Cain will embark on a run of headlining shows over the coming weeks. The Perth band recently dropped their debut The Rule Of Gravity. More.

EYE ON THE CHARTS

Local boy band What About Tonight scored their second consecutive number one spot in the top 20 of AIR's singles/EP charts for independent labels with independent distribution chart with their track Time Of Our Lives (Nammos Beach Records/Independent). Brissy indie breakouts Sheppard remained at number two with their self-titled EP (Independent/MGM).

There were a few debut entries in the chart this week too. Indie electro trio Seekae's track Another (Future Classic/Independent) entered in at 12, while Sheppard scored another release in the chart with their song Hold My Tongue (Independent/MGM) debuting at 17. The Jungle Giants fresh, new number Skin To Bone (Amplifire/Rocket) rounded out the debuts at 18.

Once again, Horrorshow have the number one LP in the top 20 albums released on independent labels through independent distribution chart this week. King Amongst Many (Elefant Traks/Inertia) has held tight for three weeks now, while last week's second placed Dianna Corcoran fell down to 15 with her album Love & Therapy (Independent/WJO).

Roots performer Juzzie Smith scored the only album debut with his Live @ The Zamia Theatre (Independent/Vitamin) collection. Soul/reggae/pop fused indies Sticky Fingers found their way back into the chart this week with their hit 2013 record Caress Your Soul (Sureshaker/MGM) in at 19.

OTHER RELEASE NEWS

We were given the first taste of life post-The Toot Toot Toots under their new moniker of Twin Beasts. The Melbourne band unveiled the video for their new track Badlove. Watch.

Sam Yeldham aka Guineafowl has dropped a fresh, new song for us in the form of Little Death (Make It Rain). The anthemic number is off his upcoming EP I Hope My City Loves Me Still. Listen.

Singer-songwriter McKisko has released a video clip for her new single Good Grief. The track is another effortlessly beautiful tune, which is off her second album Eximo. Check it out.

The Tiger & Me have scored a pretty sweet coup with their 2012 song Other Friends Have Flown Before featuring in the trailer for the upcoming Australian film The Turning. More.

Perth rockers The Growl have gone all twisted and risqué for their newest music video for the droney and seductive anthem Douse The Lamps. Watch.

Hardcore outfit Iron Mind have penned a label deal with Resist Records. The band will release their self-titled second album sometime early next year. Read on.

Emerging Adelaide hip hop artist Tkay Maidza is now apart of the Select Music family. Show bookings for the rapper will be handled by the organisation. More.

TIDBITS

The Melbourne Ska Orchestra will take prime position at this year's Australasian Worldwide Music Expo. They, along with a host of other artists, will perform special showcases at the event. Details.

South-west Sydney rapper Kerser has scored himself a number one release. His The No Rest For The Sickest National Tour DVD has reached the top spot on the ARIA Music DVD charts. Read on.

The nominations have been revealed for the Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards with Sydney artists dominating this year. Both Flume and Jagwar Ma scored five noms each, with Big Scary earning three. More.
