“There’s nothing more annoying than an actor who thinks he’s Bruce Springsteen. By the way, I don’t. This is a mini midlife crisis, but not a full-blown one.”

Damian Lewis, the lead actor in the famous television series Homeland and Billions, has announced his debut album, Mission Creep, to be released this June. He also dropped his debut single, Down On The Bowery, and signed a record deal with Decca (where Lana Del Rey’s dad recently signed).
“I'm delighted to announce the launch of a new creative venture,” Lewis wrote on Twitter this week. “My first ever single Down On The Bowery [13 April] comes out tomorrow. This is the first taster of my debut album Mission Creep, which lands in June. Can't wait for you to hear it!” Check out the acoustic-led single below.
Elaborating on his drastic life change, Lewis told the Daily Mirror newspaper, “There’s nothing more annoying than an actor who thinks he’s Bruce Springsteen. By the way, I don’t. This is a mini midlife crisis, but not a full-blown one.”
His wife, Peaky Blinders and Harry Potter star Helen McCrory died from cancer in 2021. Lewis explained that the loss of his wife informed some of the “poignant and deeply personal” tracks on the record, which he revealed will be released on 16 June.
Lewis also hopes to perform new music at Glastonbury this June. "It encompasses many life experiences, and won’t take Sherlock Holmes to work out what some of those are,” he continued.
“I suddenly had a lot to say. People will judge if it’s any good or not, but for me, it felt entirely natural.
"I wanted the album to give a sense of a journey to this point, from busking ‘til now."

Lana Del Rey’s father, Rob Grant, recently signed to Decca Records to support his debut album, Lost At Sea.
Grant explained the intent behind his new single in a press release, “The Poetry Of Wind And Waves is a song about the rhythm of the ocean… and the hypnotic beauty of the waves as they rise and fall.
"When I composed this piece I was in the studio in LA, playing a beautiful concert grand piano; the studio was intimate and dark with soft ambient light.” You can check out The Poetry Of Wind And Waves here.
