Converse, the go-to shoe brand for most music lovers, has revealed their newest initiative targeted at up-and-coming musicians, through the ever-expanding Converse Rubber Tracks program.
The program — which sounds too good to be true, but isn't — allows aspiring musicians to record for no cost in a slew of iconic and highly regarded recording studios the world over, such as London's Abbey Road Studios, Stankonia in Atlanta, Georgia, LA's Sunset Sound and Australia's very own Studios 301 in Sydney.
Registrations have just opened for those 18 years and over, with the application process involving an online submission ranking their three most wanted studios and a brief artist bio via a video or written piece. The winners for each studio will be notified by early July, after which they'll get epic bragging rights when they record with studio producers in September.
Jed Lewis, Converse's Global Music Marketing Director, says, “With this new Converse Rubber Tracks program, we will unlock the doors to some of the greatest recording studios in music history and we’re ecstatic to offer this extraordinary experience to emerging artists worldwide."

Other recording studios participating in the program include Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin, Tuff Gong in Jamaica, Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik, The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Avast Recording Co. in Seattle, Toca de Bandido in Rio de Janeiro and the two Converse Rubber Tracks studios in Brooklyn and Boston.
No stranger to collaborations with the music industry and musicians, Converse are offering 84 recording sessions to win all in all at the 12 studios participating, with most travel accommodations and expenses compensated by the behemoth shoe company.
The Converse Rubber Tracks program has offered over 900 aspiring musicians a chance to record original music since 2011, at no cost, with esteemed studio engineers and with artists retaining all the rights to their music afterwards.
Registrations close on Wednesday, 24 June; you can head here to submit your application.
