The new-look Snowy Mountains fest gains more acts today

The second round of artists for the new Peak Festival - previously known as the Snowy Mountains Of Music Festival – have been confirmed today.

1970s folk-rock icon Glenn Cardier, indigenous singer-songwriter Shellie Morris, Azadoota, who sings in his native Assyrian Neo-Aramaic language, the Josh Pyke likened voice of Matt Glass, funk, soul and reggae eight-piece The Chocolate Strings and French outfit Belle Jar have all been revealed in the new announcement.mm

These acts join the likes of The Herd, Lachy Doley and The Little Stevies, who were named in the first artist reveal.

The much-loved event has undergone a revamp in 2014, with the new name a reflection of how far the festival has come over the years, according to Peak's director Belinda Shore.

“Not only will we be staging bigger name acts but also bands which appeal to a younger generation reaching from blues, world, roots and traditional into pop, hip-hop and soul music,” Shore said.
