Ascendant British performer and producer Ben Khan has announced that he will release his debut EP, 1992, on August 8, and has backed up the news with the unveiling of his stellar clip for new single Youth.
Youth recently made its radio debut on Zane Lowe’s renowned BBC Radio 1 program, to wide acclaim, and its accompanying clip finds Khan under the expert direction of BRTHR, intercut with evocative, slow-mo close-ups; flashes of surrealism; ethereal, pensive shots; and a persistent hard-on for flick knives. It’s very cool.
Take a gander at the clip below:
“Meteoric” is a term that tends to get bandied about when talking about career trajectories of fledgling performers, but in the case of Khan – who only unveiled his first demo, Drive (Part 1), late last year – it’s particularly apt, given that, in the space of a few months, he has accrued crazy amounts of accolades from critics and audiences alike, with follow-up effort Eden cementing his place as an act to watch intently.
Following the chart domination of third release Savage (2013) — and awaiting Youth's likely mimicking of its footsteps — his 1992 EP, to be released via Blessed Vice/Dirty Hit/Caroline Australia, stands to catapult Khan into the international limelight proper.

In fact, his first-ever live performance still yet to even go down — he’s booked to make his stage debut at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris (featuring artists such as St Vincent, James Blake, Future Islands, The War On Drugs, and more) at the end of October.
