Australian emo/rock/alt-metal favourites The Beautiful Monument have been quietly working on new music, and they’re finally ready to share some new tunes.

The band will take over Sydney’s The Burdekin on Friday, 17 April, before heading to Melbourne’s The Evelyn on Sunday, 19 April. The shows will give fans the opportunity to reconnect with The Beautiful Monument before they unveil their “next chapter.”

At the shows, the band will debut their latest singles, Cry About It and Dancing With The Buried, for the first time, while also performing a set of fan-favourites. Tickets are available now via the Destroy All Lines website.

The Beautiful Monument launched into 2026 with the single Cry About It, a decisive, cutting track against bigotry, entitlement and outdated ideologies. Described as an anthem for “the girlies, the outcasts and the misfits,” the Chris Lalic-produced single follows another recent track, Dancing With The Buried.

The latter hinted at the group’s expansive leap into the unknown, with layers of electronics and textured production atop their signature heavy sound. Check out the singles below.

Per a press release, The Beautiful Monument have spent the last twelve months writing, recording, and perfecting new music that includes “some of their favourite tracks to date.” They’re teasing a long-awaited larger release with their latest singles.

“We’ve taken our time to ensure the next era of The Beautiful Monument is our best yet; not only for our fans, but for us as musicians,” the band commented in a statement. “We’re tired of having to live up to a standard that people expect to see or hear from us. It’s time for our roots to show and to take pride in ourselves as both individuals and a unit.”

Featuring vocalist Lizi McIntosh, her bassist wife, Amy McIntosh, guitarist Alex Manhire, and drummer Adam Pinzone, The Beautiful Monument continue to craft relatable singalong anthems while diving into the messy parts of life, from grief and relationship breakdowns to explorations of mental health.

The latest tracks follow other standalone singles, Duerme, Misery and Hellbound. Their latest album, I’m The Reaper, was released in 2019.

In 2023, The Beautiful Monument tore up stages, opening for Evanescence on their Fallen 20th-anniversary tour in arenas across Australia.

The Music’s Michael Prebeg said of their performance: “The local Melbourne band explode onto the stage with a bang to warm us up before the main event. Their melancholic, atmospheric hard-rock sound is a reminder that post-hardcore music is still going strong. They quickly grab our attention with their raw and vulnerable lyrics with a soaring energy.”

This October, The Beautiful Monument will perform on the inaugural Hellbound metal cruise alongside Parkway Drive, Polaris, The Butterfly Effect, Make Them Suffer, In Hearts Wake, and many others.
