On Thursday (8 May) and Friday (9 May), chaos erupted at two Tina Arena shows at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre.

Thursday night saw the Chains singer called out the crowd’s bathroom habits, while on Friday, a reported brawl occurred. Punters named Diana and Sue, who attended the show on Friday, confirmed that a “punch-on” happened in a new chat with 3AW Melbourne.

“It [happened] right in front of us,” Diana told 3AW’s Ross and Russ. Sue added, “Security came pretty quickly.”

According to fan reports, the alleged brawl occurred during Arena’s performance of Stop Dragging My Heart Around with last year’s Australian Idol winner, Dylan Wright—Wright is the special guest on Arena’s Don’t Ask… Again tour.

The Music has heard that there was commotion in the crowd as people yelled at each other towards the end of the song. Arena paused the show, the house lights turned on, and security rushed to break the punters apart. The show was reportedly stopped for five to ten minutes.

Before performing Sorrento Moon, Arena reportedly commented, “Let’s get back some of the energy that we lost from before” to enthusiastic uproar from the audience.

The night before, things also took a turn for the awkward, with The Herald Sun and the Daily Mail reporting that Arena was upset by punters taking bathroom breaks while she was performing.

“Back in my day, you wouldn’t leave to go to the toilet unless you were shitting your pants,” Arena allegedly said. “Go before the show” might be essential advice ahead of Tina Arena’s remaining dates of her Don’t Ask… Again tour.

Tina Arena is currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of her massive Don’t Ask album. The tour continues in Cairns this weekend (17 May), followed by dates in Brisbane (20 and 21 May), the Gold Coast (23 May), and Adelaide (30 May).
