Time has snuck up on us and all of sudden New Zealand’s angular rock noise-mongers have been around for virtually a decade.
The Dunedin trio have covered a lot of ground in that time, from their breakout self-titled debut to the furious Promises, Promises and the maturing of their sound across Form and Harmony. Their fifth album SWIM is, by vocalist and guitarist Andrew Wilson’s own admission, an album about surviving.
Fitting, because they’re a band who’ve always done just that.
Released this Friday August 15 through Black Night Crash Records, the record gets its title from the acronym for ‘someone who isn’t me’ and is as cutting and intense as anything they’ve done prior.
