The 'Jungle' hitmaker has a massive few months ahead
At a time of year when most of us are ready to wind down, acclaimed Aussie songstress Emma Louise is looking to knock things up a notch.
Having recently been announced as the support act on the upcoming national tour for venerated British crooner Sam Smith, Emma Louise has upped her own stakes with the announcement that she has freshly signed a new label deal with Liberation Music, just in time to usher new single Underflow out into the world.
The track, which has just picked up an addition on triple j's playlist from next week, is an atmospheric, almost-haunting composition, at once both lush and starkly minimal, with the lyrics and music having come from a demonstrably personal place, Louise says.
"I wrote Underflow about that feeling that swells up inside of you when you know that things in your life are about to change," Emma Louise said in a statement. "It’s like an undercurrent that at first you ignore, and it builds and builds until you know you need to make a decision, albeit hard and scary at the time. Then the change comes, and everything is new and different."

Fittingly, considering Emma Louise's newly bolstered profile, the song was premiered on Apple's Beats 1 radio channel, and marks not only her first release as part of the Liberation cabal but an early sampler from her eagerly awaited sophomore full-length, due out early next year.

The next notch in the belt for the Aussie chanteuse will be her shows with Smith later this month and early next; she'll join the Brit singer for a run of all-ages shows from Saturday 28 November to Saturday 12 December, putting on performances in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney (twice), Melbourne (also twice) and Brisbane.
