Drake hasn’t toured Australia since November 2017, but according to his latest Instagram Story, the wait might finally be over.

Taking to his Instagram Stories just two hours ago, the Hotline Bling rapper shared an old photo of himself looking over at the Sydney Opera House with the caption “It’s been like 7 years” and three pairs of cheeky eyeballs looking sideways emojis.

There’s not much to go on, but major tours have been teased with less than that before, so stay tuned for updates from Drake.

When Drake last performed in Australia, he was on the Boy Meets World tour. Since his last visit, he’s dropped the albums Scorpion (2018), Certified Lover Boy (2021), Honestly, Nevermind (2022), and last year’s For All The Dogs, plus the 2022 collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss.

Drake hasn’t embarked on a solo headline tour since 2019, but last year and this year, he co-headlined the It’s All A Blur tour with 21 Savage and the Big As The What? tour with J. Cole across the US.

Earlier this year, Drake made headlines for being part of a mega rap battle with Kendrick Lamar, with the pair dropping eviscerating diss tracks about each other.

In The Music’s roundup, Tione Zylstra surmised that the feud began when Drake expressed unhappiness at Kendrick Lamar not including him in a “big three,” which commonly includes Kendrick, Drake, and J. Cole, saying, “It’s just big me.”

Since then, the pair released track after track, attacking each other’s character, style, family, and other serious allegations. You can check out the most notable lines in the diss track saga here.

Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topper, Not Like Us, has been nominated for Song of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

In a review of Drake’s 2017 show at Qudos Bank Arena, The Music’s Sally Anne Hurley remarked: “This shit is magical.”
