Dave & Phil Alvin Join Bluesfest Sideshow Ranks

The siblings behind The Blasters will play two headline dates in April

Lauded blues-peddling brothers and founders of The Blasters, Dave and Phil Alvin, are taking the opportunity to showcase Common Ground: The Songs Of Big Bill Broonzy, their first album together in 30 years, with a pair of Bluesfest sideshows in 2015.

Joined by backing band The Guilty Ones, the veteran guitar-slingers will hit The Basement, in Sydney, on Wendesday, April 8, before jetting southwards to Melbourne, to play the Northcote Social Club, on Thursday, April 9. With a back catalogue stretching back to the hazy days of the late 1970s through to Dave's original split from Phil and the band in 1986, fans can expect a broad range of favourites both new and old when the reunited brothers take to the stage at Bluesfest and in Sydney and Melbourne next year.
