That's the way it's gonna be, little darlin'.
Daryl Braithwaite's iconic cover of The Horses is set be dropped by the AFL's Hawthorn Hawks football club this season, which has been considered an unofficial anthem for the team.
As The Herald Sun reports, the 1991 cover has been played or sung by Hawks players following big wins since 2013 and the revered Aussie artist even performed the track in 2013 and 2015 at grand final dinners.
Former Hawk Brent Guerra is considered the player who started the trend, however Hawthorn vice-captain Isaac Smith said there may be a new song that will be associated with the club moving forward.
"We have had a bit of consultation, myself and a couple of others, and we might have a new one cranking this year," Smith said in a chat with RSN.
"It's probably the only song the boys knew the words to."
The news comes after Braithwaite told The Music that he may perform The Horses on stage at Bluesfest this year with the song's co-writer, Ricki-Lee Jones.
Meanwhile, according to Sporting News, Hawthorn player Ben Stratton came under scrutiny this week after he was found to have played a DJ set at Melbourne's Revolver nightclub this past Sunday.
There was however no evidence of any wrongdoing and officials confirmed that they were aware of Stratton's 8pm set and had no issues with it.
