More Courtney Barnett More Courtney Barnett

A new documentary about Australian artist Courtney Barnett has secured funding thanks to Screen Australia.

The news was announced by the organisation today as part of a $2.5 million grants program for documentaries.

Dubbed Anonymous Club - after Barnett's track from 2013's How To Carve A Rose Into A Carrot EP - the 90 minute documentary will take a look at Barnett's life and career.

"With unprecedented access to the personal and private life of notoriously shy, but widely acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, Anonymous Club delicately and intimately explores the inner life of an artist in conflict with herself," reads the documentary's synopsis.

The film is to be written and directed by long-time Barnett collaborator Danny Cohen, and produced by Philippa Campey (Brazen Hussies) and Samantha Dinning (No Time For Quiet).
