The third iteration of Ngarra Jarra Noun - Healing Ceremony has been announced, with Victoria Park in Naarm/Melbourne set to host the event on Sunday, April 13th.
Held in partnership with the Dhadjowa Foundation, the event promotes community healing and wellbeing through ceremony and culture, with this latest version set to pay tribute to families and communities affected by Aboriginal deaths in custody.
Featuring a headline performance from renowned rapper Briggs, the bill will be rounded out by local names Crooked TP, MPath Soul, Jayden Lillyst, and Aaron Morgan. It will also feature healing ceremonies conducted by Jason Tamiru with local traditional dance groups.
“The world is changing and in this political climate I believe having all our nations, clans and families connecting in pride while showing unity and strength is exactly what the answer is,” Briggs said in a statement.
“I’m looking forward to performing for all the blackfullas, different mobs and allies on the day. See ya there with a big language warning!”

“This year’s Ngarra Jarra Noun Healing Ceremony will be a special tribute to families and communities affected by Aboriginal Deaths in Custody,” adds Nathan Lovett-Murray of the Indigenous Sports Network. “We have the oldest living culture in the world and we are the most locked up people in the world.
“We need to come together at Victoria Park and heal our families and communities through music, dance and ceremony.“
Designed to be free, impactful, and a day that celebrates cultural celebration, resilience, and healing, Ngarra Jarra Noun has continued to grow since its first edition, with the family-friendly event seeing families from surrounding communities and suburbs keen to connect and learn more about Aboriginal culture and matters.
The event also features children’s dance workshops, traditional games, and painting activities, with numerous food options on offer, too.
Full details for the event are available via the Dhadjowa Foundation’s website.
