While Bloc Party are frequent visitors to Australia, the British rockers are returning later this year to offer something special: a 20th anniversary tour.
Bloc Party will tour across Australia and New Zealand this August, where they’ll play their iconic debut album, Silent Alarm, in its entirety as well as a collection of their greatest hits. For the tour, they’ll be joined by special guests Young The Giant.
The tour begins at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Friday, 1 August, before heading to Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Sunday, 3 August, Adelaide’s AEC Theatre on Monday, 4 August, Perth HPC on Wednesday, 6 August, and Brisbane’s Riverstage on Friday, 8 August.
The band will finish the run in New Zealand, playing at Christchurch Town Hall on Sunday, 10 August, and Auckland’s Spark Arena on Tuesday, 12 August.
Early Bird pre-sale tickets will be available on Wednesday, 19 March, at 9 am local time – you can register here to access those tickets. The general sale begins on Friday, 21 March, at 9 am local time via the Destroy All Lines website.
The band said of the tour this morning, “You’re up, Australia and New Zealand. We can’t wait to return this August with Young The Giant to celebrate 20 years of Bloc Party.”
