blink-182Blink-182 are ramping up the nostalgia ahead of the 25th anniversary of their beloved 2001 record, Take Off Your Pants And Jacket.
As The Music previously reported, the American pop-punk heroes have started teasing something related to the 25th anniversary of Take Off Your Pants And Jacket. They haven’t given away much information, so it’s unclear whether the band are embarking on a celebratory tour or planning an anniversary-edition release.
They still haven’t answered those questions, but blink-182 have taken fans back in time, reviving their old MySpace page. What’s our age again?
Posts include videos celebrating classic tracks like Stay Together For The Kids and The Rock Show, as well as links for new merchandise, Bonus Tracks – labelled “Do not open this one”, Exclusive Content, labelled “OPEN THIS ONE,” lyrics to songs from the album, and more. As for the “Do not click” option, fans are taken to a SoundCloud page featuring 30-second previews of three songs.
Check out the band’s MySpace page here.
Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is home to three hit singles—The Rock Show, Stay Together for the Kids, and First Date. To promote the album, blink-182 embarked on a co-headline run with Green Day: the 47-date Pop Disaster Tour across the US and Canada. Before that tour, blink-182 presented the album to fans in Australia and New Zealand in April 2001.
In Australia, the album debuted at #2 on the ARIA Albums Chart before being certified Platinum.
In 2024, blink-182 returned to Australia for a 15-date tour with special guests Rise Against. The shows marked their first run Down Under since 2013 (Travis Barker hadn’t set foot in Australia for an even longer period).
