Kate Miller-HeidkeAustralia's Kate Miller-Heidke might have missed out on winning the Eurovision grand final but she has still picked up a very prestigious prize for her efforts.
Miller-Heidke and her team have picked up this year's Eurovision Marcel Bezençon Artistic Award, which is an award given to the artist voted best by the competition commentators.
The award has been around since 2002 and this is the first time it has been awarded to an Australian entrant.
Sharing the news via Instagram, Miller-Heidke has credited her team and creative director Philip Gleeson, who "was responsible for our choreography, as well as training me in how to use the pole, and for convincing me it was possible in the first place".
Miller-Heidke has also revealed that she was "thrilled" to find out she had placed first in the Semi Final 1 round, picking up a total of 261 points for her performance of Zero Gravity.
The Brisbane singer-songwriter scored 285 votes for her performance of the track in the grand final, while The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence claimed #1 with 492 votes.
