Untitled Group, the promoters who were working on Oliver Tree’s 2026 Australian tour, have shared a statement following the news of the musician’s tragic passing.

On Monday (15 June), it was reported that Tree was one of six individuals who passed away following a mid-air collision involving two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday, 14 June. He was 32.

Tree was in South America for his The World’s First World Tour, which launched late last month, with the American singer and internet personality performing the fourth date of the tour in São Paulo on Saturday, 6 June. He was expected to resume the tour in Portugal on Wednesday, 1 July.

The Associated Press reported that Tree was one of five passengers on an AS350 alongside Argentinian director Lucas Vignale, Argentinian YouTuber Gaspar GaspiPrim, Brazilian music producer Lucas Frota, and pilot Alexandre Souza. Charles Marsillac, the pilot of the other helicopter, a Bell 206, also died in the accident.

Oliver Tree was set to bring his The World’s First World Tour to Australia and New Zealand in October. Today (16 June), tour promoters Untitled Group paid tribute to the Miss You hitmaker.

“Untitled is deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Oliver Tree,” the promoters shared in a statement published on Instagram today.

They continued, “Oliver created something entirely his own, blending genres, performance art, and internet culture into a sound and persona that couldn’t be replicated.

“He turned absurdity into anthems and built a connection with fans that went far beyond the music. His impact on the alternative music scene will be felt for years to come.

“Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone who found something of themselves in his work.”

Oliver Tree released the albums Cowboy Tears and Alone In A Crowd in 2022 and 2023, respectively, before his most recent album – Love You Madly Hate You Badly – arrived in April.

Tree’s 2026 world tour was scheduled to make 70 stops (including a reported show in Antarctica), with a headline tour of Australia – featuring stops in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth – scheduled for October. He was also set to play a show in Auckland, New Zealand.
