Augie March, Justin Townes Earle & More Join Bluesfest Line-Up

Even more acts are on the way for April's massive event

More Bluesfest Bluesfest Profile

Revitalised Aussie rockers Augie March are among an A-list crop of additions to the already-bursting Byron Bay Bluesfest line-up, which was revealed this morning and also includes international drawcards such as Justin Townes Earle, American surfer/muso Donavon Frankenreiter, and soul luminaries Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires.

Also Byron-bound for the five-day Easter-weekend extravaganza will be local legends the Melbourne Ska OrchestraDeclan Kelly performing Diesel n'Dub (with assistance from Emma DonovanAlex LloydPat PowellRadical Son and Tony Hughes), six-string-slinging workhorse Ash Grunwald, the evergreen Blue King Brown, veteran act The Beautiful Girls, the indomitable Steve Smyth, and renowned hat-clad troubadour Karl S. Williams - but that won't be all.

"With this announcement Bluesfest is adding some real meat to each day of the festival," Bluesfest director Peter Noble said in a statement. "This one is all about our own Australian artists with a few Americans blended in. All up 11 new artists are added which means you now have 11 more reasons to not miss Bluesfest! Just in case you are wondering if this it... of course it isn’t. True to Bluesfest fashion more amazing artists will be added in January and in the lead-up to the festival."

The new crop joins an existing roster of acts that already includes heavyweights such as Lenny Kravitz, Ben Harper and The Black Keys. With tickets already selling quickly, you'd best act in kind to ensure you nab a pass before the opportunity's gone. All event and camping tickets are available via the Bluesfest website (as well as Moshtix and Ticketmaster), where you can also get across the set times and other logistical information.
