The reformed Texan post-hardcore outfit will perform in Sydney and Melbourne
Revered US post-hardcore forefathers At The Drive-In are playing their first live shows since 2012 at the moment, and Australian fans will have two extra opportunities to catch the reformed band in action when they touch down for the sold-out Splendour In The Grass this year.
Bookending their festival appearance with a show either side, the band — sans founding member Jim Ward — will perform at Melbourne's Forum Theatre on Friday 22 July, dropping by Sydney to play the Enmore Theatre on Sunday 24 July.
Through his work not only with At The Drive-In but side projects such as The Mars Volta and Antemasque, frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala has achieved infamy for his spasmodic stage energy, while the wider band themselves have a penchant for making memories when they do come out to play.
It's been forever between records — At The Drive-In's last release was their seminal 2000 third album Relationship Of Command — but they've since confirmed they're working on new music, suggesting that local punters will hopefully be treated to a solid mix of reliable faves and intriguing new songs to keep the reignited ATDI torch burning as they make their way back into the spotlight.
