Elton JohnFresh off the back of a massive year thanks to their Who Believes In Angels? record, Elton John and Brandi Carlile will be at the forefront of a new concert special that will air on SBS this New Year’s Eve.

The collaboration between John and Carlile is a long-running – and very special – one to fans of both acts. While John began his musical career back in the early ‘60s, it was in the mid ‘90s when a teenaged Carlile’s love of the English musician’s work led to her learning piano, and later guitar.
Her third album, 2009's Give Up The Ghost, saw the two artists working together for the first time on a song dubbed Caroline. They would again reunite for 2021’s Simple Things, and again for 2024’s Never Too Late, a song featured on the documentary of the same name, with the pair receiving their first Academy Award nomination in the process.
The song was also included on Who Believes In Angels?, which arrived in early April as their first full album of collaborations. Response to the record was positive across the board, and even scored a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
