Amyl And The Sniffers’ Amy Taylor has made headlines after saying that Donald Trump can “eat [her] arse” at a show in London.
The Aussie punks played their final show of their UK tour on Friday (15 November) at London’s Roundhouse. A few songs into the set, Taylor launched a tirade against the US former President and President-Elect, Donald Trump, before performing the Cartoon Darkness highlight, Tiny Bikini.
Bringing attention to recent political news, Taylor said: “I just wanna take a second at the start of the set to talk about politics. I think Donald Trump can eat my arse!”
She continued, “But not in a cute way, in the way where he should stop being a fuckwit and let me get an abortion, let trans people go and be trans if they wanna be, and all that other fucked up shit.
“The problem with that is, those motherfuckers over in America, Australians are always sucking them off, so it’s gonna hit us up too, which is bullshit, and yous are probably doing the same.”

Taylor isn’t the only one bringing attention to US President-Elect Donald Trump. US stars Billie Eilish and Jack White shared their displeasure with the recent election result, which saw Trump defeat Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Eilish stated that his win would lead to a “war on women,” and White described him as a “wannabe dictator.”
Amyl And The Sniffers released their latest album, Cartoon Darkness, on 25 October. It has since been shortlisted for the 2024 Soundmerch Australian Music Prize.
You can read Amy Taylor’s musings on the band’s new album, the challenges of expectations and breaking as an Aussie band overseas, and more in a recent cover story with The Music here.
The band will tour Australia in January and February 2025. They recently made news after capping tickets to the tour at $75—even playing at large venues like Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. Amyl And The Sniffers’ management told The Music it’s “always the instinct” of the band to keep ticket prices affordable.
