A big week for the Charts!

More The Kid LAROI More The Kid LAROI

Australian artists have landed at the top of both major ARIA Charts this week.

Queensland artist Amy Shark has claimed her second ever #1 on the ARIA Album Chart with her latest, Cry Forever

This gives Shark her second #1 album in a row, following on from her 2018 debut Love Monster. It's also the seventh Australian album to land at #1 on the chart in 2021.

Shark made her first appearance on the chart in 2017, with Night Thinker EP (home to the 2016 Hottest 100 #2 track Adore) which landed at #2.

The new album has also landed at #1 on this week's ARIA Vinyl Chart.

“Huge congratulations to Amy Shark on her second ARIA chart-topper with Cry Forever," said ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd

"Amy is one of Australian music’s brightest stars and is an inspiration to us all. It’s great that she’ll be able to share her music live with audiences around the country in the coming months. What a great week for Australian music!”

The Kid LAROI has claimed the #1 on ARIA Singles Chart with Without You, moving up from last week's spot at #10, bolstered by the recent remix with Miley Cyrus. The pair are set to perform the track on Saturday Night Live this weekend.

This marks the first time two Australian artists have been at the top of both charts since 16 December 2019 when Cold Chisel's Blood Moon and Tones & I's Dance Monkey both scored #1s.

The Kid LAROI is the first local artist to claim the #1 spot on the chart since Dance Monkey ended its 24-week run in the spot in January 2020.

“A #1 single by an Australian artist is a fantastic achievement in itself but to hit the top of the chart after so many weeks is remarkable," said Herd of the achievement.

"A massive congratulations to The Kid LAROI who has managed to top both charts in the space of three months. He’s an Aussie artist who is making a big impact overseas, particularly in the US."

Looking at the wider chart, Albums Chart debuts include Gojira's Fortitude at #3, Royal Blood's Typhoons at #5, DJ Khaled's Khaled Khaled at #7, Girl In Red's If I Could Make It Go Quiet at #10, Liz Stringer's First Time Really Feeling at #14, Julia Stone's Sixty Summers at #16 and Big Scary's Daisy at #46.

The Singles Chart sees Doja Cat's Kiss Me More feat. SZA move to #2, Russ Millions & Tion Wayne's Body move from #18 to #3, while Lil Nas X's Montero (Call Me By Your Name) moves from #1 to #4 and Glass Animals' Heat Waves comes in at #5.

Billie Eilish's latest, Your Power, has made its debut at #9.
