The Amity Affliction ProfileBrisbane metalcore act The Amity Afflcition raised eyebrows this morning as they unveiled the cover art for their third album Chasing Ghosts, set to be released in September. The front cover depicts the limp lower half of a man's body, raised off the ground, while to the right of the shot stands a tree. While no rope can be spied in the shot, it's a rather confronting image.
The band refused to comment to theMusic.com.au this afternoon, but a representative from the band's label, Roadrunner Records, said that over the coming weeks people will understand the image more, particularly its importance in relation to the album, as more details are released.
Yesterday the band tweeted that they were having problems with the government regarding the album's cover art. It is not known whether what was released today was an edited version of the intended cover art or not.
So. Our album artwork hasn't even come out and it's causing issues. The Government won't properly acknowledge suicide but they'll censor it.

Responses on the band's own Facebook page this morning were overwhelmingly positive with a small percentage of their fans speaking out against the image. Though, conversely, few vocally supported the band for taking a stance with regards to the issue of suicide as well.
