Hip-hop aficionados, get ready to mark your calendars, as the 4Elements Hip-Hop Festival Conference (4ESydney) has just unveiled a star-studded lineup for its ninth edition, which is set to take place from November 23 to 25 in Blacktown, Sydney.

This year’s 4ESydney Conference, scheduled for November 23 and 24, carries the theme "Acknowledging the past, living in the present, and paving the way for the future."

It will be hosted at The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre, promising an extraordinary celebration of 50 years of hip-hop culture that will bring together artists, industry experts, and fans in a vibrant celebration of artistic expression and empowerment.

The conference will serve as a platform for engaging discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities, where industry insiders, thought leaders, and creative visionaries will converge to share their expertise and visions for the future of hip-hop culture.

The 2023 conference boasts an impressive lineup of distinguished speakers, each hailing from various sectors of the music, hip-hop, and media industry.

The first wave of speakers announced includes:

Annabelle Herd, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA).

JK-47, Minjungbal/Gudjinburra artist and advocate from the Bundjalung community.

MC Trey, a seasoned hip-hop/soul artist with over 15 years of experience, known for international performances and collaborations.

Rhianna Patrick, a Torres Strait Islander journalist and broadcaster with 25 years of experience in media, including news, documentaries, radio, and podcasts.

Nooky, a Yuin, Thunghutti man, celebrated for his dynamic rap and notable brand collaborations.

Maya Jupiter, a US-based artist and activist, and the inaugural host of Triple J’s Hip-Hop show.

RAYGUN, a researcher and the Australian Breaking top-ranked bgirl in 2020 and 2021, set to take on the world at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Simone Amelia Jordan, Australia's most successful hip-hop journalist, known for her contributions to The Source, VIBE, Rolling Stone, ABC, and SBS, with celebrity interviews garnering over 13 million YouTube views.

Other speakers announced for the 4ESydney conference include Diola, Dj D, Dobby, Dr Alethea Beetson, Julia Robinson (Aria), Malek Sukkar (Gunsta), Maxine Johns, Michelle Grace Hunder, Mistery, Nofusruss, Nooky, Rachel Gunn, Tiana Canterbury, and Taitu’uga. The diversity of these speakers promises a multifaceted exploration of music, culture, and social impact.

The conference will explore various aspects that influence and interact with hip-hop culture, with a special focus on First Nations hip-hop culture and the Asia-Pacific region. It will scrutinize the influence of international migration on hip-hop and investigate how the convergence of diverse cultural worlds can propel hip-hop's future.
