They're calling for your to 'save our signal'.

Sydney community radio station 2SER FM are calling for help to replace their antenna following a lightning strike.

The station's FM antenna got hit on Good Friday and has since been working with temporary fixes and repairs. The station is now asking listeners to donate to their 'Save Our Signal' fundraiser to replace it.

“The adjective our technician used when reporting from the transmission site was ‘catastrophic’, a moment I will always remember," said station manager Martin Walters.

"A catastrophic lightning hit during our 40th birthday year during a pandemic!"

“2SER has worked to establish a variety of revenue streams but COVID-19 has impacted all of them," he continued.

"From the sponsorship wipe-out (a flow-on effect of the crisis in the arts and culture sector) through to training fees - It's not a stretch to say the station's future is up in the air. At the very least we need urgent funding to get us through the next 12 months."
