"Adelaide has become a hub of creativity for local musicians, attracting local and international attention"
South Australia's best musical talent was recognised last night at the annual South Australian Music Awards.
A record-breaking live audience of industry and artists were treated to live performances by Teenage Joans, Marlon x Rulla, George Alice and TOWNS throughout the evening.
It was a monumental evening for South Australian music, with Teenage Joans setting a new record for the SAMs for the most awards won by a single artist in the same year.
They took home seven awards, taking over the previously held record of four wins by West Thebarton in 2018.
Other locals who took the spotlight included Tilly Tjala Thomas, Boffo, Kitchen Witch and Carl Williams Jr.

“The many displays of community spirit amongst the SA music industry over the past 12-months has been nothing short of inspiring," Music SA General Manager Kim Roberts said.
“This year’s SAM awards are not only an opportunity to congratulate our nominees, finalists and winners but also a chance to safely come together to acknowledge the countless other heroic efforts within our industry throughout a difficult year."
