The Music's Power 50 is a celebration of leadership and Australian music impact for the year.

Stuart Field has spent over two decades helping to shape the backbone of Australia’s live music sector. Having gone from sneaking into gigs and studying a (surprisingly real) Bachelor Of Leisure degree, to landing an internship with festival organiser Brian Chladil, Field swiftly realised the gap in the market that he could fill. Realising traditional ticketing companies weren’t built for the chaos and creativity of music festivals, they built their own, with Oztix becoming only the third ticketing company in Australia at the time, and now the country’s largest independent one. Under Stu’s leadership, Oztix has grown and evolved for 23 years, developing tools like the Oztix Personalisation Engine, integrating the first-party data platform SEEKA, and creating live heat maps and economic impact reporting to help the industry understand and expand the true value of live music.
Today, Stu is not only the driving force behind Oztix, but also a passionate advocate for the wider music community. Further, he co-curates the Good Things Festival, now in its sixth year, where he champions emerging heavy and alternative artists through new stages and expanded local line-ups, and alongside long-term partnerships with BIGSOUND, national music awards, and Support Act, Stu continues to push for policies that support sustainable growth through his roles with Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) and the Australian Live Music Business Council (ALMBC).
With a professional mantra based around Oztix’s ethos of “Built on Partnerships,” Field consistently drives positive economic outcomes for the live events sector, while keeping Australian music at the heart of every decision. Alongside serving as an Ambassador for Support Act’s Ausmusic T-Shirt Day, and continually helping to make Australian live music more visible, more viable, and more valued, Field (along with co-founder Brian Chladil) has spent decades serving as one of Australian music’s quiet architects – a founder who built the infrastructure others rely on.
That foundation is undeniably most prominent thanks to Oztix, which has not only continued to support both local music and consumers across its 23-year history, but was recently recognised as it became the proud recipient of an Australian Events Award, winning Service Company Of The Year 2025.

From Good Things to Party In The Paddock to Summernats, and through to 50-person gigs across Australia, Oztix is powering an enviable roster of events as one of the most trusted names in entertainment. Working with local venues, artists, and agents to deliver standout shows, develop touring strategies, and to amplify regional content, Field’s influence goes far beyond a tech platform.
In 2025, there aren’t many true independents left, and Oztix is Australian-made and Australian-owned, giving an alternative to the multinationals and keeping them on their toes. After a COVID that nearly flattened the whole industry, Oztix came out of lockdown swinging and hasn’t let up since.
