Jana Recmanikova is one of the many impressive international names appearing at BIGSOUND this week.
Recmanikova has been with Festival Republic and Live Nation UK for the past eight years, as well as the lead Talent Buyer for the London venue, Gunnersbury Park, which is Festival Republic’s 25,000-capacity music event.
In addition to those roles, she books one of the biggest festivals in the UK – Reading & Leeds – and promotes artists across the UK. Recmanikova has worked with a multitude of artists throughout her career, with Festival Republic shows featuring sold-out shows from Limp Bizkit, Korn, Joji, boygenius, and Aussie acts like Rüfüs Du Sol.
On Wednesday (3 September), Recmanikova will feature in the delegate-only BIGSOUND event, Selling Tickets Or Shaping Culture? A Festival Discussion, programmed in collaboration with the Australian Festival Association.
For the conference event, she’ll appear alongside Scrabble PR Director Gabe Cramb, Laneway Festival Director Jessie Parker, Goldenvoice’s Rene Contreras, Strawberry Fields General Manager Vicky Keeler, and Dina Bassile, Lead Access Consultant for Tibi Access, Tibi Agency and Groove Tunes.

Check out what she had to say below.
Freshly off R&L 2025, we saw four stunning performances from Aussie bands across the weekend!
Both Amyl And The Sniffers and Royel Otis played on the main stage and delivered first-class shows that saw tens of thousands of fans cheering from beginning to the end.
At the Festival Republic stage, we had The Chats headlining the tent on the Friday, and on Saturday, crowds went crazy for Ecca Vandal, who brought out legendary guest Fred Durst.
Theeth: Fresh indie sound. After hearing Falling Out Of Touch, I wanted to listen to the rest of her tracks. Finding out she’s just 17, I’m super intrigued to see the show.

Darcie Haven: Very much up my street – sad girl [music] similar to Holly Humberstone or Phoebe [Bridgers], will be definitely watching her!
Darcie Haven performs at The Brightside outdoors tonight at 9:15 pm and at the Black Bear Lodge on Thursday, 4 September, at 8 pm. You can check out her artist page here.
Azure Ryder: I have heard of Azure a few years back, but never seen live. Her voice is stunning.
