The 2025 edition of The Seed Fund has just gotten bigger. Organisers today revealed the location for next year’s workshop and the first round of guest speakers.
Applications are now open for the 2025 The Seed Fund’s Future Makers Management Workshop, with just 35 participants to be chosen. The program will involve participants at The Robertson Hotel in Robertson, regional NSW. At the time of publication, no date has been revealed for next year’s program.
In addition to revealing the location for next year’s workshop, the first round of guest speakers and mentors has been announced.
Participants will receive mentorship with some of Australia’s most renowned artist managers, such as Cath Haridy (Bob Evans, Emily Wurramara, Anna Laverty) and John Watson (Missy Higgins, Midnight Oil), artist and Elefant Traks founder Tim Levinson (best-known as Urthboy), Concord Music Publishing MD and AMCOS Chair Jaime Gough, and Butchulla songman Fred Leone (the latter two are Workshop alumni).
The Seed Fund is currently driven by Co-Founder John Butler, Danielle Caruana (Director/Co-Founder of the fund and artist Mama Kin) and The Seed Fund Managing Director Stacia Goninon. A philanthropic fund, for next year’s event, The Seed Fund has partnered with Create NSW to ensure the return of the event in 2025
In a statement, Goninon said of next year’s program, “In a time where artist managers and self-managed artists are predominantly working in silos, facing a barrage of long-standing and new challenges, opportunities to intentionally come together and form personal and professional connections is incredibly valuable.

“The Seed Management Workshop offers something crucial in the ecosystem, an immersive experience that bigger conferences can’t offer, which creates a hive mind working towards the common goal of a thriving community and industry... we all leave transformed.
“The workshop serves as a training and design opportunity to address the cultural and creative sector’s skills shortages. The artist is the centre of the industry, and managers (including self-managed artists) are pivotal in its success.”
Applications for the 2025 workshop are open until Tuesday, 12 November. You can apply to participate in next year’s program here.
