The Hollywood Reporter has officially launched Down Under—and there’s a familiar face running the show: Australian veteran publisher and journalist Sean Sennett.
For nearly 20 years, Sean Sennett owned and ran Queensland’s highest-circulating street press publication, Time Off magazine. Initially co-owning the publication at just 24 years old, Sennett went on to write for The Age, The Australian and Rolling Stone magazine, interviewing the likes of David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Bruce Springsteen throughout his enviable career.
Now, he’s been named the Editor-in-Chief of The Hollywood Reporter’s Australian edition. According to the publication, Sennett will bring his extensive experience to “Australian screen and entertainment media.”
Based in Sydney, the Australian edition of The Hollywood Reporter launched in partnership with local media company Raine Media. Its digital presence on social media is now live, with a website to follow.
By launching in Australia, the homegrown screen industry and its talent will be showcased across “digital, print and video formats,” with initiatives already underway including “Australian power lists, industry roundtables, studio collaborations, national events and membership-driven programming.”
