Warner Music Australasia President Dan Rosen is in the midst of a role change. His job is about to encompass Warner Chappell Music, bringing together recorded music and publishing businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
Adding the company’s publishing brief to his role, Rosen will now report to Guy Moot, the Co-Chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music, and Simon Robson, the President of EMEA, Recorded Music, at WMG.
Rosen is regarded as an executive with an “outstanding skillset, flexible approach and natural curiosity” who has been “deeply embedded” within the music industry for years—not only as an industry professional but also as an artist.
With the newly expanded role, Rosen is set to “grow Warner Chappell Music Australasia's business, foster a new level of collaboration between the two divisions, and create new opportunities for both artists and songwriters.”
Rosen has been featured on Billboard’s prestigious International Power Players List for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024).
In a statement, Rosen said he’s “incredibly excited” to take on the expanded role, adding that it’s a “privilege” to “passionately and innovatively” serve Warner’s roster of recording artists and songwriters.

Rosen continued, “We are building a truly unique creative powerhouse for the music community in Australasia by fostering an environment where artists and songwriters are celebrated and empowered to elevate their work to new heights both locally and globally.
“The roster of songwriters at Warner Chappell Music is exceptional, and I look forward to expanding its repertoire and reach across Australasia, positioning it for exciting new growth and opportunities.”
Guy Moot cited Rosen’s “passion for music, deep understanding of the industry, and experience across law, policy, and artist advocacy,” as well as his career as a songwriter, as key elements that define his skillset of leading “strong, distinctive divisions of recorded music and publishing.”
Moot added, “The Australasian music industry is both dynamic and diverse, and over the last few years, we’ve worked hard to grow a frontline roster from scratch - I’m delighted Dan will be building on this with his holistic vision for the region.”
Simon Robson described Rosen as an “exceptional” leader for Warner Music Australasia, praising his history of “constantly pushing the envelope and championing the careers of artists and songwriters.”
Of Rosen’s newly expanded role, Robson said, “This expanded role will enable him to strengthen our entire proposition in the region and set a new standard for how we serve the creative community.”
Earlier this month, Rosen received a Fellowship from Monash University for his services to the Australian creative industries and the arts.
Warner Music Australasia has grown significantly under Rosen’s leadership, with the label signing record deals with country stars Brad Cox and James Johnson and championing the careers of up-and-comers Budjerah, Kita Alexander, and Oliver Cronin. He’s also committed to breaking Warner Music’s international acts in the region, such as Charli XCX, Benson Boone, Fred again.. and Teddy Swims.
Rosen's career has been multifaceted, beginning with his co-founding of the band Second Dan. He has experience as a qualified lawyer and policy expert, CEO of ARIA and PPCA, and more. He also contributes to the industry in other ways, serving on numerous Government, not-for-profit, and music industry boards.
