Almost a year after Dan Rosen’s role at Warner Music Group expanded to include the Australia and New Zealand publishing brief, his role has changed once again.

Dan Rosen is set to lead the label’s recorded music businesses in Australasia and Southeast Asia – Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam – and will continue to be responsible for Warner’s recorded music and music publishing businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

While he has been named President of Warner Music Australasia and Southeast Asia, Rosen will continue to report to Lo Ting-Fai (known as Lofai), President of Warner Music APAC, and collaborate with local experts across the territories.

Marking Warner’s investment in Australia and beyond, the label is growing its domestic artist structure and building on the success of local artists such as Balu Brigada, Boy Soda, Budjerah, Kita Alexander, and Thelma Plum.

In a statement, Rosen said he’s “honoured” to lead the Warner Music Australasia and Southeast Asia team and reinforce the label’s commitment to Australian and New Zealand artists.

“Our mission has always been to find dynamic ways to help our local artists go global, and for our global artists to grow passionate local fanbases,” Rosen said.

“I’m honoured to lead a talented, focused team, and work with our amazing local partners, in these six diverse and exciting markets in Southeast Asia, while reinforcing our commitment to Australian and NZ artists. This move comes at an incredible time as there is a wealth of talent from this region that deserves a bigger global stage.”

Lofai praised the “richly diverse” music of the Australasian and Southeast Asian territories, citing “extraordinary artists, talented entrepreneurs, and young passionate fans.” Lofai also commented on Rosen’s leadership and the “bold” changes on the way.

“This region is richly diverse, full of extraordinary artists, talented entrepreneurs, and young passionate fans, who are highly engaged with a booming music ecosystem,” Lofai said. Breaking more artists and turbocharging our business here is one of WMG’s top global priorities.

“Under Dan’s skilled leadership, our artists will tap into both the economic value and weight of population across all eight countries, providing a powerful springboard to global fame and fortune. Change is never easy, but this is about doing something bold and winning big over the long term.”

Even with the changes, Rosen will continue to lead Warner Chappell Music, the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, in Australia and New Zealand. The label’s operations in Southeast Asia will remain under the leadership of Arica Ng, President of Warner Chappell Music APAC. The pair both report to Guy Moot, Co-Chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music.

Last year, Rosen received a Fellowship from Monash University in recognition of his contributions to the Australian creative industries and the arts.

Warner Music Australasia has grown significantly under Rosen’s leadership, with the label signing record deals with country stars Brad Cox and James Johnson and championing the careers of up-and-comers Budjerah, Kita Alexander, and Oliver Cronin. He’s also committed to breaking Warner Music’s international acts in the region, such as Charli XCX, Benson Boone, Fred again.. and Teddy Swims.
