The 2023 ARIA Awards are fast approaching, with the television event honouring Australian musical talent receiving its airdate of Wednesday, 15 November.
This year’s awards will see some shake-ups, including a return to the Hordern Pavilion and, for the first time in its history, teaming up with a streaming giant – Stan – for a live broadcast.
The red carpet will be broadcast on YouTube from 1:30 pm AEST, followed by the full award ceremony on Stan from 5 pm, and a free-to-air broadcast on Channel Nine and YouTube from 7:30 pm. Nominees for the 2023 ARIA Awards will be revealed in September.
“I’m so excited for the upcoming 2023 ARIA Awards,” Gretta Ray revealed in a statement via TV Tonight. “This event holds a special place in my heart, not just as a celebration of incredible music and artists, but also as a moment to connect with fellow musicians and fans who share the same passion.
“The ARIA Awards are a recognition of the hard work, creativity, and dedication that goes into making music, and being a part of it is truly an honour.”
The state’s first-ever Minister for Music (as well as other portfolios), John Graham, said he is “delighted” to welcome the ARIA Awards back to the Hordern Pavilion for a second year running.

He continued, “Sydney is already the centre of much of the recorded music industry, but we want to make music a bigger part of our state’s story. I want to thank ARIA for their advocacy for the industry.”
As The Daily Mail reports, the decision to bring the 2023 ARIA Awards forward by a week ensures that the ceremony doesn’t clash with the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, attracting international artists such as Mötley Crüe and Belinda Carlisle, who will be visiting Australia at the time. The Sunday Telegraph also reports that Robbie Williams will likely appear on the night – one day before his Australian tour begins.
This year’s awards will be produced by Roving Productions, with executive producer Craig Campbell leading the charge.
“The incredible releases over the last 12 months prove there's no shortage of world-class talent on our shores, and 15 November is our opportunity to showcase a year of amazing Australian music to the world,” ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd said in a statement via Mamamia.
“We're thrilled to be back at the Hordern and broadcasting a spectacular show across Stan, Nine and YouTube that will make Aussies proud of our outstanding artists and their achievements.”
Stan Chief Content Officer Cailah Scobie added, “We are extremely excited to announce that Stan will be home to the live broadcast of the 2023 ARIA Awards. Stan is committed to supporting local content, and being the live broadcaster of music’s night of nights is a fantastic opportunity to spotlight Australia’s amazing local artists.”
