Local the Neighbour's eclectic discography takes pieces of inspiration from just about every variant of guitar music since its inception – Alex G, Elliott Smith, Cleaners From Venus, Jai Paul – run through Local's distinct perspectives, resulting in some of the most exciting and off-kilter rock to come out of this country lately. Powder Blue's version of the Australian funk and soul sound takes them to places rarely gone by their contemporaries. Sparks of King Crimson, Funkadelic, and Barrett-era Pink Floyd give Powder Blue's winding and hypnotic music a certain X factor uncommon in such young bands.
