Jo Meares Band with Charles Jenkins

Jo Meares will perform a rare showcase with his 8 piece Sydney band joined by Australia’s finest songwriter Charles Jenkins in a rare Sydney appearance.



The Jo Meares band combine Jo's songwriting, his Cohen-esque weathered tone, halfway between a whisper and a growl, amongst textured sonic terrains with  soundtrack-like emotionality. The band has an extraordinary level of musicianship. Expect lush backing vocals, sublime violin and saw, lovely electronic sounds and piano, gorgeous guitar and percussion and brilliant songs.



Charles Jenkins is a Melbourne songwriter/musician, producer, performer and teacher with more than 30 years experience in the Australian Music Industry.He has released 23 albums and been nominated for 2 ARIA awards with the Icecream Hands. In 2014 he won the AGE/Music Victoria award for best folk/roots album.
