Music critics around the world are saying they're “fed up” with musicians changing their style once they've formed an opinion of them.

Top music writers have traditionally formed an opinion of bands and solo artists on first impressions, opinions which are staunchly defended until the band fades into obscurity or breaks up. However there is a growing trend of musicians pushing the boundaries and changing styles, which music critics are calling “increasingly worrying.”

The Australian based Critics Unified Nationally for Total Solidarity association said today in a statement, “We've worked hard to make sure that each magazine, website and newspaper hires the exact same type of writer with the exact same tastes and we're sick of musicians taking the piss and trying to change up their sound and push new styles.

“The music industry is not a space for challenging anything, it is not a space for innovation. Why are these people trying to confuse things?”

The association said that it would consider taking legal action to get musicians 'tied' to a genre which they would choose at the start of their career. Any genre changes would impose a fee of $50,000 per change and the artists would then also be required to change their name.
