“The song focuses on my insecurities in a time when I was unsure of myself and who I was as a person."
Brisbane’s Waxflower present pop punk at its finest with their debut single, Cut Your Teeth, and its accompanying music video aims to represent their name and music.
The clip was filmed in a “sweltering” Gold Coast shed earlier this year.
“The song focuses on my insecurities in a time when I was unsure of myself and who I was as a person,” vocalist Tristan Higginson told The Music.
“There’s a juxtaposition between that theme and the deliberate visual choices in the video; the matching outfits, consistent colour palette, the falling flower petals.
“We wanted people to come away from the video with a clear view of what imagery Waxflower provokes, building on top of the music and artwork rather than living separately.
“We wanted to avoid being four dudes playing along to a song in a warehouse. We wanted to be Waxflower.”
