"The perfect atmosphere for the song’s feel and direction."
The latest clip from Sydney rockers Grinding Eyes captures their live energy.
Premiering today via The Music, the video for When The Night Falls saw director/producer Ashton Ward splice together live footage, clips from soundcheck and various other bits and pieces from the band’s tours.
“The result is the perfect atmosphere for the song’s feel and direction that depict twilight surrealism or the suspense sometimes felt as night falls,” Grinding Eyes told The Music.
“The moving visual collage of shadows, the almost neon looking projections and the multi-layered fractal lighting reflect the themes in the song.”
On the song itself, which is taken from their latest record, Taste The Monochrome, frontman Matt Wicks said: “The song is about how the fall of night makes you feel. Whether you are partying into the wee hours and suddenly stop and see the craziness around you or work only in the dark hours as a shift worker or nurse, the world changes in the night hours. Maybe everything feels easier as you become less visible as daylight fades into neon lights?"
Grinding Eyes will embark on an East Coast tour tomorrow that runs throughout December and January.
