To celebrate this year's 420, Hermitude have released a brand new song titled 'Too High' to help you kick off your blazing celebrations in style.

It's April 20th today. Not only is it the start of Taurus season, but it's also a day of celebration for stoners everywhere as the international "holiday" of 4/20. Every year, those who are herbally-inclined do their part to commemorate the day, from memes to thinkpieces to special one-off releases from some of our favourite artists, and its the latter that we have been treated to today from none other than HERMITUDE.

Titled 'Too High', the legendary duo pay tribute to their upbringing, when two good friends get high together, grow some weed and make music. Complete with all the hallmarks of a quintessential Hermitude track including instrumental hooks, synth driven electronica and instantly playful lyrics, 'Too High' is the ideal way to kick off your celebratory blaze.

Speaking of their new track, Hermitude said, "When you grow up in an isolated town where there ain't shit to do, a good solution is to form a band called Hermitude, grow a couple of weed plants out the back of ya Mum's house, pick up the keys to ya Dad's studio and bunker down from dusk till dawn writing as much music as possible. Two good friends getting high and creating."

To celebrate the release of 'Too High', we got Hermitude to give us the scoop on their favourite tracks to "chill" to. Along with 'Too High', these tracks are the ideal 420 playlist. Sit back and enjoy some maxo relaxo vibes courtesy of Hermitude!

Bibio - Before

This tune just feels like a Sunday afternoon chill to me.. I love putting this on and kicking back, smoke one down.

Four Tet - Two Thousand and Seventeen

Like a night under the starts in the desert this beautiful track with that distinct emotive melody just transports me to another place and time.

David Axelrod - The Human Abstract

I like many probably came across Axelrod through Dj Shadow’s music. This song is a classic in both camps but this whole album is worth sitting back and taking in the whole experience.. the Album Songs of Experience is a masterpiece.

Sahara - Rabih Abou-Khalil

This album (Blue Camel) was given to me by a mate when I first moved to Surry Hills and was unemployed. I'd never heard a mix of Jazz and Arabic melodies before and I became completely entranced. Beautiful late night material.

Cure - Joey Beltram

Mid 90's ambient techno maestro Joey Beltram delivers the goods on this smacked out galactic journey through distant worlds. I used to fall asleep to this tune for years.
