Paul Dainty’s first job out of school was working as a runner for film directors like Joseph Losey and Stanley Kubrick at the UK’s Shepperton Studios. He was offered a trainee director course with the BBC but took a job offer from a music agency instead, which saw him work with acts like Roy Orbison. During tours to Australia with Orbison, Dainty spotted an opportunity for touring Down Under and started The Paul Dainty Corporation which went on to work with acts like ABBA, The Rolling Stones, Diana Ross and Bee Gees early on. The company was acquired by the TEG Group in 2016.

Paul Dainty certainly kept himself and TEG Dainty busy throughout 2019. Music tours for the year included Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Basement Jaxx vs The Metropolitan Orchestra, Peter Hook, Air Supply, Carly Rae Jepsen, Peter Bence and more.

Dainty was also at the helm for tours with experts from Making A Murderer and The Staircase, the hosts of The Last Podcast On The Left, comedian Theo Von, Dr Jordan B Peterson, WWE Live, a one-off Jersey Boys Melbourne show and more.

But it was three tours that defined 2019 more than any others for Dainty - Eminem’s Rapture 2019 run, Hugh Jackman’s The Man. The Music. The Show. and Phil Collins' Not Dead Yet: Live! stadium tour.

Eminem, along with TEG Dainty, set the new all-time concert attendance record for the MCG. Smart programming by Dainty saw Hilltop Hoods, Royce Da 5’9” and Boogie support throughout the tour bringing in 257,542 fans across the Australian leg of the tour. Jackman’s tour sold a whopping 982,000 across its 90+ show run which included 28 Australian and New Zealand arena events, while Phil Collins brought in 220,000 tickets for his January/February tour.

"It's hard to pick one! The three standouts being Hugh Jackman’s 90+ world tour dates, Phil Collins, who hadn’t toured Australia in close to 25 years, and Eminem’s national stadium tour and creating the largest concert attendance ever at Melbourne’s MCG Stadium with over 82,000 fans. All three tours were colossal successes, featuring nothing short of amazing live performances, and each delivering an incredible atmosphere for fans."
