MinistryPioneering American industrial metal band Ministry is calling it a day, with the band’s frontman Al Jourgensen saying he’s “fucking done” but “proud” of the band’s achievements.
They’re not saying farewell without unleashing a final album and tour, though. The band’s seventeenth and final studio album, Hate to Go – Take Out or Delivery, will be released on Friday, 30 October, and the first single, Burned Out, can be heard below.
Following the album’s release, Ministry will embark on their Goodbye Europe tour, beginning in Holland in April 2027 and continuing throughout the whole month. Tour dates in the US are expected to be announced soon.
Louder Sound confirms that Hate to Go – Take Out or Delivery will contain a final collaboration between Ministry’s long-running bandleader, Jourgensen, and his former bandmate and longtime songwriting partner, Paul Barker. He’s set to appear on the album’s closing song, We’re Still Here.

The album also finds Jourgensen accompanied by guitarists Monte Pittman and Cesar Soto, bassist Paul D’Amour, sampler/synth player John Bechdel, and drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña.
Addressing their impending disbandment – their third break-up, but this one has been talked about since 2024 – a statement from the band reads: “Done. Sayonara. Finito. However you want to say it, Ministry is coming to an end.
“But before bidding adieu, creator and music madman Al Jourgensen has a few final things to say about the state of the world, those in charge and how we should all collectively move forward.”
Jourgensen added, “I’m fucking done. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished. I’m amazed at the path that it’s taken, from With Sympathy to where we’re at today, and all points in between. It’s been quite a ride, but I’m completely at peace with the fact that it’s done. It’s time to herd goats.”

Since their formation in 1981, Ministry’s music has evolved from synth-pop to becoming one of the pioneers of industrial rock and industrial metal. With several line-up changes, break-ups, and reunions, Jourgensen is the group’s sole remaining original member.
Ministry last visited Australia for the 2015 edition of Soundwave Festival and performed a couple of sideshows. Those shows followed the band’s 1995 Australian debut.
