The 50 most influential people in the Australian music industry.
Susan Heymann wrapped up a sports science degree and then pursued a career working in music, working across artist management, retail and media, as well as spending time with EMI. In 2003, Heymann joined Chugg Entertainment as the assistant to the general manager, also working as marketing manager and tour coordinator before being promoted to Managing Director.
It was a powerhouse year for Susan Heymann and Chugg, kicking off with a run of shows from Florence & The Machine, Florida Georgia Line, Rex Orange County and Christine & The Queens and more. In late March, there was the announcement that all Chugg Entertainment events would now be co-promoted by Frontier Touring. “With all that knowledge and experience, as well as the other music businesses in the Mushroom Group to lean on and collaborate with, I’m excited to see what the Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring teams can accomplish together,” said Heymann at the time.
The year didn’t slow down from there though - tours from Billie Eilish, Kacey Musgraves, K Flay, Aldous Harding, Lauv, Hozier, G Flip, Maggie Rogers and more followed throughout the rest of 2019. CMC Rocks QLD Festival continues to be a winner for Chugg Entertainment, selling out once again in 2019. Heymann was also awarded the Country Music Association Jo Walker Meador International Award which recognises “outstanding achievement by an individual advocating and supporting Country Music’s marketing development in territories outside the United States”.
"After many months of plotting and planning, announcing the joint venture partnership between Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring. Another major achievement was taking long service leave once the deal was done! The incredible support from my peers and the industry showed an encouraging shift in people’s thinking around balance and wellbeing."
