Sydney Comedy Focus: Luke Nowell

Briefly describe your show. pLight is a comedy show that shines a spotlight on life's absurdities. It's fusion of physical comedy, clown and audience interaction. I find comedy in the absurd and frivolous with heart-warming anarchy and cheeky poetic nuance. It takes you away from the world of words and into the world of imagination. Spontaneous, visceral, unpredictable and a little bit weird, pLight is a performance but moreover it is an experience that engages all the senses. Really, this show can't be explained; it has to be experienced.

Is there anything that comics shouldn't joke about? Donald Trump. It's getting too serious.

What's a ridiculous situation you've been in that you got a joke from? An old man went to shake my hand when he was standing quite a distance from me, making it a bit of an awkward and long wait as he toddled down the long "runway" before shaking my hand. I turned that into a big convoluted visual stand-up joke.

What was the last thing that had you in side-splitting laughter? When I tried to fit the rim of a large drinking glass inside my mouth. I succeeded. My friends and I lost our minds.
