It’s been a bit of heavy week around the world but Perth indie-pop rockers Foreign Architects are here to alleviate some of the stress before the weekend with a soaring new single and music video.
Sometimes I Run sees the two-piece leap strides from past works, and finds Matt Burke (vocals) and cousin Andrew Barnett (drums) really hone into a captivating sound.
“Sometimes I Run is an autobiographical song about knowing deep down what you think you’re worth, but not reaching out to grab it when it's there, in fact doing the opposite,” singer Burke said.
“The lyrics explore this headspace and the contradictions that in reflection were so illogical, but were so easy to ignore at the time.”

Its accompanying clip, which we have the pleasure of premiering, sees Burke in the midst of a Cluedo-themed murder mystery.
“There was a real bandage on my finger for the shoot which you might notice, from the night before when I spent a few hours in emergency getting my finger stitched back together due to ‘bad avocado cutting technique’.”
“I went to the pharmacy across the road after the shoot to get a clean bandage but had forgot to clean the fake blood on my head, I’d decided as I walked in that I was going to resist the urge to pretend I’d just walked out of a car crash but by the time I even got to the counter the poor ladies behind it were already rushing to offer me first aid.”
Sometimes I Run’s hometown launch tonight is set to be wild, as the two-piece take on the Fremantle Beer Fest.
