A seemingly forgotten underground musical eco-system has been discovered in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the wake of the hurricane

A seemingly forgotten underground musical eco-system has been discovered in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy with the discovery stunning local residents.

The 'musical Atlantis' was discovered in a basement by recovery workers who were sifting through rubble and rats in the popular suburb. First response workers were shocked when they found the community, who were unaware city's devastation and instead dancing to a drone-heavy-witch-house four-piece playing in the corner.

One of the first on the scene, Bom Trabham told SPA Confidential that he “couldn't believe his eyes” when he forced open the basement hatch.

“I can't believe that all this time, there was a whole other world right beneath our feet. I mean, it looks fucking ridiculous and I don't know why anyone would want to be a part of it but still – it's not something you see every day.”

At first the residents of this apparently exclusive commune were aggressive to the rescuers, forbidding them to enter into their holy grounds. But as more and more workers came to marvel at the phenomenon the residents appeared to lose interest in the eco-system and came up to ground level – only to be met with the mass destruction caused by the hurricane.

The discovery has come at a cost though, with the community no longer functioning now that it had come to the attention of the rest of the world. The few remained in the basement were eventually rounded up by the authorities.

“Now that we've found and disturbed their way of life, it's not cool anymore,” said Trabham. “They're going on display in an enclosure in the New York museum under 'past trends'.”

Those who are now adapting to life at ground level have vowed to rebuild the city's way of life.

“This disaster has apparently brought the whole city together,” said 'Atlantis' resident Charles McNapoleon. “Together we can re-build. We're committed to dividing the community back up into niche groups as soon as we can.”
